Yo Snap Studios, the company which prints and releases our music on physical format, have announced that they are going to make a record Lathé!
Your question now probably is: What is a record Lathé?
Answer: A Lathé is a machine which can cut grooves in vinyl records. This means that some of Yo Snap Record's releases will be available on VINYL RECORDS! Not exactly, they will be released on GluCords, which are cheaper to make. Here are the steps to "mass produce" a GluCord:
Step 1: Make a round plate out of wood glue and let it dry for at least 24 hours. It must be 1 cm high at least.
Step 2: Heat the plate a bit and record the grooves onto it. This will now be called an acetate disc.
Step 3, making the stampers: The stampers are negatives of the record, and will be used to "print" the GluCords. First, you need to find a vinyl record, then brake it and remove the label at the center. Now, you are going to melt the record until it liquefies, but at the lowest temperature possible. Now pour the liquid vinyl over the acetate disc, and form the vinyl to be a thin sheet over the acetate. Do this on both sides if you have recorded on both sides! Let this dry. Now you have two negative stampers!
Step 4: Now, lay one of the stampers with the grooves up, and pour wooden glue over it. Then lay the other stamper with the grooves down on the glue. Let this dry for at least one day.
Now you have a GluCord!
As you read, it takes really long to make a GluCord, over 24 hours. A normal vinyl record takes just 24 sec. to make! GluCords have a worse quality than vinyl records, and it is difficult to make a flawless acetate and stamper. Therefore, we will only release a small part of our music on GluCords.
