Our history
Our history starts in early summer 2013, when DJ Terranova MC told his friend, DJ Hockeypowder, that he was going to start a new label, EMiT Records. At that time, they had both been DJ's for around a year.
EMiT Records
DJ Terranova MC had already made the song "Dr. Flat Theme", and was planning to release it. Since he did not have a record deal, he created his own record label, EMiT Records. At the same time, he also made a very limited compilation CD called "Retarded Buddah Pop Mix Vol. 1". "Dr Flat Theme" was never released on EMiT, and the copies of "Retarded Buddah Pop Mix Vol. 1" were given away.
Oh Snap Records & SharkFanFTW
Shortly after EMiT Records was opened, DJ Hockeypowder created two record labels, Oh Snap Records and SharkFanFTW. DJ Hockeypowder also had some projects he wanted to release, which is why he created the labels.
Unification: Yo Snap Records
Shortly after these record labels were created, DJ Hockeypowder and DJ Terranova MC decided to unite their labels. The brand new label was called Yo Snap Records. A website and Facebook page was created, which boosted the popularity.
2013
In June 2013, DJ Terranova MC released his first album on Yo Snap Records, "Retarded Buddah Pop Mix Vol. 2", which included the first mix and song by DJ Terranova MC. The album was a success, but was an unofficial release. Only 3 months later, DJ Terranova MC released his first full album "Kristus Danser pa Harrytur Til Sverige". The album also featured the first song by DJ Hockeypowder. But this album is perhaps most known for popularizing the song "Vi Skal Til Sverige" by The Snaess Project.
2014
Nothing happened with Yo Snap Records for half a year, but right before the summer of 2014, DJ Hockeypowder released his first album "Blasphemy Is Funky (The REAL Album)". This was a very important release, since it showed that Yo Snap Records still was active, and that Yo Snap Records released different kinds of electronic music.
The breakthrough
In early autumn 2014, the most important album by Yo Snap Records was released. "The Shrek Incident and 99 Fuckups" by Hockeypowder and Terranova included 19 brand new songs. This album became a huge success, and was released on CD's, cassettes and digital files. This album also sat the benchmark for every future releases by Yo Snap Records.

The Shrek Incident and 99 Fuckups is the most important album released by us. Without it, Yo Snap Records would not be considered a label.
- DJ Terranova MC
Simultaneously, DJ Hockeypowder, DJ Terranova MC and Da Gabbah Klubbaz released a single each. Da Gabbah Klubbaz was a short lived hard dance project by DJ Terranova MC.
In December 2014, DJ Hockeypowder suddenly released 3 singles. These singles are now considered some of the best releases by Yo Snap Records. DJ Terranova MC also released a song that same month, but this song was considered a flop.
That same month, DJ Terranova MC also started the Yo Snap Music Podcast.
2015
In the winter of 2015, Yo Snap Records got another popularity boom. Hockeypowder released his most important single in January. That same month, DJ Terranova MC released a killer remix of Coldplay's "Clocks", and at the same time the compilation album "The Best of Yo Snap Records Vol. 1" was released. Compiled by DJ Terranova and DJ Hockeypowder, this release showed the quality of Yo Snap Record's music. It also included a release from a brand new artist: Adnes Mesterverk.
In February, the experimental artist Lovlydig signed up with Yo Snap Records, releasing his debut single "It Became an Open-Source Windows". DJ Terranova MC also released his remix of "Sandstorm" by Darude, which became a massive hit. Later he also released a remix of the classic "The Phantom of The Opera".
In these times, DJ Hockeypowder decided to retire as an artist.
The great breakthrough
In May 2015 Yo Snap Records hosted the first concert at Foss in Oslo. This was an extremely popular show. Hockeypowder and Terranova played both released and unreleased tracks.
Only 2 months later, DJ Terranova MC released his album, "Ultrabass 2000" under the pseudonym Terrornova. This was a pure hard dance album, and was loved by the fans.
But the greatest breakthrough came in late summer of 2015, when Spaceboyz, Nikotina and BubaJaqus signed up with Yo Snap Records. Spaceboyz are currently working on a song with DJ Terranova MC.
Then, DJ Hockeypowder decided to make a comback, making 3 new songs (they are still unreleased).
That same month, Yo Snap Records hosted the Live @ Katta concert featuring music and mixing from Lovlydig, DJ Hockeypowder and DJ Terranova MC. The concert was a so popular, that Yo Snap Records are promising a new concert soon!
